EU


OSMTH er en internationalt meget aktiv organisation, der konstant via diplomatiske kontakter forsøger at påvirke udviklingen i verdenens brændpunkter, i retningen af en kristen forståelse og fred.

Det er en indsats medlemmer ofte dagligt arbejder med i de områder, hvor krisen er fysisk manifesteret i tortur og forfølgelse, som f.eks. i Pakistan, hvor kristne menigheder nærmest konstant er under angreb eller i Jerusalem, hvor kristne står midt i en religionskrig om det for mange religioner hellige område.

Men vi er også aktive i diplomatiet for at bedre forholdene i verdenen tættere på os, som f.eks. i Europa.  OSMTH er medlem af den gruppe, der udgør platformen for drøftelser og indrapportering af forholdene for de fundamentale rettigheder indenfor EUs område. Charter of Fundamental Rights as compass for all EU policies (EU)

Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship, spoke about how to strengthen the fundamental rights situation in the EU during a hearing of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs in the European Parliament in Brussels. She also stressed the "need for more reliable and comparable data on the situation on the ground" and the FRA's "crucial role here by providing us with comparable and reliable data on the situation in the 27 Member States in the areas where the EU can act."    Læs mere her .....

European states should respect advice by UNHCR, Council of Europe says (EU)

The Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights, Thomas Hammarberg, expressed concern that "Advice by the authoritative United Nations refugee agency is nowadays not sufficiently respected by governments and state agencies in Europe."
